Kristy and I took a quick trip to Vancouver British Columbia. We had a great time! The weather was absolutely perfect and I really liked the city and the landscapes. I think if the weather was this nice all the time everyone would want to live there. I especially loved biking, running and hiking through and around Stanley Park. The combination of large green coastal trees, the blue water, a bright and clean city and the float planes taking off to small northern bays constantly reminded me that I wasn’t in a familiar city. I loved it!
We spent a good part of a day on Granville Island. We rented kayaks, browsed the impressive market, enjoyed the views and ate our lunch while listening to Ralph Shaw, The King Of The Ukulele.
We then took a bike ride around the Stanley Park on the seawall. It’s a wonderful and scenic ride of approximately 6 miles. Great views of the water and the city.
On another day we took the auto ferry to Victoria and visited Butchart Gardens and the city of Victoria. The gardens were spectacular and we had a great time wandering through the gardens which were converted from a rock quarry to planned gardens over 100 years ago. I loved that they had a small float plane dock directly to their back door.
